My Story
Being diagnosed in 2012 when a lot of the world was still very far behind in understanding allergens, the gut-brain axis, cortisol, adrenal dysfunction, hormonal imbalance and so on. Autoimmunity is no joke! It has been an incredibly grueling battle navigating the unknown. Advocating for myself to many of the medical community has sadly fallen on deaf ears. And truthfully still does most days for me.
I, myself, have worked in the medical field for many years, both in mental health and the medical community directly; training staff, creating curriculum, patient advocacy, informing on behaviors of patients, navigating mental health both personally and professionally. While I am not currently licensed nor currently practicing, I hold an Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences as well as two Masters degrees.
I have spent many years researching and understanding trigger foods, inflammation, nutrition, recipes, supplements, symptoms, holistic solutions, medications etc. I look forward to being able to share my information and knowledge of my journey with you!
So, where did “Aunt Janny” come from?
I am known to my nieces and nephews as Aunt Janny. I have helped raise each one of them in some way shape or form and spent many years testing out my recipes on not only them, buuut also my sisters and my family. They were going to eat what Aunt Janny eats whether they liked it or not! And somedays not LOL!
I CANNOT EXPRESS TO YOU HOW I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE! And I hope my pain can somehow bring you comfort that you are not alone, and that I hopefully have taken out some of the guess work for you by offering foods that remove so many of the triggers that are associated with autoimmunity! OR even if it is that you are just wanting to eat healthier!
